This cat will never leave your side. The Geometric Black Cat flew to the edge of space on Oct. 4, 2025, floating 101,875 feet above the Sierra Nevada Mountains of central California.  It was launched onboard a giant helium balloon by the students of Earth to Sky Calculus.

Hand-carved from resin, this desktop sculpture loves to hang out on bookcases or computer monitors.

The cat was launched as part of a student science project. It traveled to the stratosphere alongside an array of cosmic ray sensors, which the students use to monitor atmospheric radiation. A full 3 hours of data were collected during the flight. After the balloon exploded (as planned), the payload parachuted back to Earth, landing in Eureka Valley on the outskirts of Death Valley National Park.

Your purchase includes a unique gift card showing the cat at the top of Earth’s atmosphere. The card's interior tells the story of the flight and confirms that the sculpture has been to the edge of space and back again.
