Snoopy's Easter Candy Bowl has touched the edge of space. It flew to the stratosphere on Jan. 30, 2026, onboard an Earth to Sky Calculus cosmic ray research balloon. The hand-painted porcelain bowl holds a giant handful of Easter candy as sweet as Snoopy and Woodstock!During the balloon flight, the bowl soared to an altitude of 112,505 feet, experiencing temperatures as low as -58 C with air pressures less than 0.3% of sea level. After two hours in the stratosphere, the balloon popped (as planned), and the payload parachuted back to Earth, landing in Eureka Valley on the verge of Death Valley National Park. Snoopy had a wild ride, and the students got great data for their atmospheric radiation monitoring program.
