It's the logical way to keep your drink cool--a Mr. Spock cozy. This one has been to the edge of space. It hitched a ride onboard an Earth to Sky Calculus cosmic ray research balloon on May 21, 2022.
At the apex of the flight, the beer cozy floated 109,888 feet above the snow-capped Sierra Nevada mountains of central California, spending two hours in the stratosphere as sensors in the payload measured cosmic rays. After the balloon exploded (as planned), the payload parachuted back to Earth, landing near the Eureka Dunes at the north end of Death Valley National Park. Mr. Spock had a wild ride, and the students got great data for their cosmic ray monitoring program.
