Is there a Snoopy fan in your life? They will love Cupid Snoopy for Valentines Day! This hand-painted figurine flew to the stratosphere on Jan. 18, 2024, onboard an Earth to Sky Calculus cosmic ray research balloon.

During the balloon flight, Cupid Snoopy soared to an altitude of 108,105 feet, experiencing temperatures as low as -61 C with air pressures less than 0.5% of sea level. After two hours in the stratosphere, the balloon popped (as planned) and the payload parachuted back to Earth, landing in Eureka Valley on the verge of Death Valley National Park. Snoopy had a wild ride, and the students got great data for their atmospheric radiation monitoring program.
