This is a gift for anyone who loves the sun.
The Hydrogen-Alpha Ring is the same color that hydrogen atoms emit in the sun's hot atmosphere: Red at a wavelength of 656 nanometers. Space-black edges of beveled tungsten carbide frame the deep-red band with a polished surface that maintains lifelong shine.
On Nov. 16, 2025, the ring floated in the stratosphere for 3 hours while radiation sensors inside the payload gathered data for the students' radiation monitoring project. After the balloon exploded, as planned, the payload parachuted back to Earth, landing near Saline Peak in Death Valley National Park.
Your purchase comes with a greeting card showing the ring in flight, and certifying that it has traveled to the edge of space and back again.
