It's the logical way to wake up in the morning: Coffee in a Mr. Spock Cup. It has pointy ears, holds 20 oz. of coffee, and comes from the edge of space.
The students of Earth to Sky Calculus flew the cup to the stratosphere on Aug. 25th onboard a cosmic ray research balloon. At the apex of the flight it floated 111,453 feet above the Sierra Nevada mountains of central California. Two hours after launch, the balloon exploded (as planned). Spock-cup parachuted back to Earth, landing in a narrow canyon in the foothills of the Silver Peak Range in western Nevada.
Each mug comes with a greeting card showing the item in flight and telling the story of its journey to the edge of space and back.
