This ornament flew to the stratosphere on Dec. 1, 2018, onboard an Earth to Sky Calculus space weather balloon. During the flight it experienced temperatures as low as -65 C, air pressures only 0.2% of sea level, and cosmic ray dose rates 100x Earth-normal. The oval ceramic disk is decorated with a famous photo from the Apollo program: Earth rising above the Moon as seen by Apollo 8 astronauts on Christmas Eve 1968.
 
Each ornament comes with a Christmas card showing your ornament in space. The inside flap tells the story of the flight and confirms that the ornament has traveled to the edge of space and back again.
